Justin O'Brien Interviews Anne Lachat, Chair of FINMA

In the seventh of a series of interviews with international regulatory experts on the future of financial regulation, the Chair of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, Professor Anne Héritier Lachat, discusses the challenges of making financial regulation effective when the culture and incentives within banks are not always supportive of this outcome.  Professor Lachat highlights importance of ongoing external validation in making financial market regulation more effective.

These interviews were commissioned by the Centre for International Finance and Regulation and conducted by Professor Justin O’Brien of UNSW Australia at the headquarters of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in Madrid, Spain.
