Regulating the Revolution – Rethinking the Regulation of Digital Financial Services

Sydney, Australia

10-11 December 2015

The way Digital Financial Services (DFS) are currently regulated has limited the opportunities for the deepening of financial inclusion, and has suggested an urgent need to reconceptualize current regulatory frameworks and for a paradigm shift in regulatory approaches.

This two-day conference will explore rethinking the approach of developing regulation for DFS to encourage innovation and improve financial inclusion. Serving as a catalyst for debate and exchange of insights among policymakers, academics and practitioners, the conference is expected to:

  • Demonstrate problems with existing regulatory approaches to DFS;
  • Outline key features of a new regulatory paradigm for DFS; and
  • Provide participants the opportunity to work-shop the new paradigm.

Conference details will be provided soon.  Enquiries should be directed to Dr Cheng-Yun Tsang.
