European Parliament Releases Research Study on Implementation of the Consumer Credit Directive

The European Parliament’s Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection has published a research study concerning the implementation of the Consumer Credit Directive. The study is divided into three parts using three different analytical approaches, the “formal” aspects of implementation, the substantial aspects of implementation, and the credit agreements going beyond the Directive’s scope of application. The study focuses on: (i) the state of implementation in Member States and the difficulties during the implementation process; (ii) specific aspects of the Directive, particularly the fully harmonised provisions; (iii) whether the scope of implementation has been extended and how credit agreements
