The chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (“ASIC”) discusses the challenges facing ASIC over the next decade, identifying three challenges that ASIC must overcome to achieve its strategic outcomes: (i) the growing regulatory perimeter, particularly with the exponential growth in superannuation; (ii) the increasing complexity of the financial system; and (iii) leveraging ASIC’s resources to be proactive because it is through proactive regulation that we build resilience in the system.
